Welcome to What I Ate Wednesday! Yesterday was a pretty normal day of eating and working out around here.
I know the tea isn’t something I actually ate, but the it gets top billing in my house! My brain just doesn’t function if the sun hasn’t risen! If I don’t have caffeine in the morning, well, it’s not pretty.
I’m also the kind of girl that needs to eat about every two hours. All of my snacks need to have some protein in them, otherwise my blood sugar tanks and you can find me in the fetal position on my couch. Not cute.
So, since breakfast was at 8:00, at 10:00 on the money, I was starving for a snack. I whipped up my favorite Tropical Fizz smoothie for some sustenance.
About two and a half hours later (really pushing it here), I was ready for lunch. For some reason, I just didn’t feel like my usual salad meal.
Instead, I had some gluten-free chicken nuggets for protein, with a nice salad of mixed greens and balsamic on the side. I really try to eat some greens with lunch on most days, even if the salad isn’t the focal point of the meal. Balance!
Lunch dessert included another spot o’ tea and half a chocolate protein bar.
Before the gym I munched on some carrots and Trader Joe’s Three Layer hummus. Best hummus ever!
When dinner time rolled around, I wanted to use the ground turkey I had defrosted earlier in the day. We’re on a bit of a ground turkey kick around here. I make sloppy joes, chili, meat sauce, ziti, and home made sloppy joes. Who knows how long this kick will last before I move onto something else, but for now, the ground turkey really is great for healthy and easy weeknight dinners.
So last night turkey sloppy joes, corn, and spinach salad it was!
After dinner, I enjoyed some chamomile tea to ease me off to dreamland.
So that’s What I Ate Wednesday! Hmm looks like I drank a lot of tea. Antioxidants for the win!
What did you eat today?
